nutrition kitchenThe nutritional courses at SPC introduce students to the six classes of nutrients: carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, vitamins, minerals, and water.  Students discover food sources of the nutrients, digestion, absorption, metabolism, and transport of the nutrients, as well as relationships between nutrition and chronic disease.

-Offered Face to Face and Online

-Counts towards a Science credit at SPC.

-Transfers to most Universities

-Satisfies Nutrition pre-requisite for Covenant School of Nursing and Texas Tech School of Nursing.

-Pre-requisite course for many Dental, Radiology, Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management, and Nutritional Sciences programs.

 

HECO 1410 – Science of Nutrition

-Taught face to face

-Does not satisfy a natural lab science requirement at SPC, will satisfy an elective requirement

-Transfers to most Universities

-Satisfies Nutrition pre-requisite for Covenant School of Nursing and Texas Tech School of Nursing.
