AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY
The Automotive Technology program offers students specialized college-level training in preparation for entry-level positions in the automotive service industry. The program's curriculum is built around a core of eight instructional areas which cover electrical systems, manual drive train and axle, brakes, suspension and steering, engine performance, engine repair, heating and air conditioning and automatic transmission and transaxle servicing. This program is certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) in all eight specialty areas. Students completing the training sequence in each of the specialties learn skills which meet ASE The following curriculum meets all requirements for the Associate of Applied Science degree. Provision is also made for students to receive certificate training in specialized areas. Completion of the eight specialty areas results in a Certificate of Proficiency. This program also awards a Tech Prep Enhanced Skills Certificate upon completion of additional technical courses.
